Job Title: Trails Volunteer Coordinator

Job Description: The Trails Volunteer Coordinator assists the Trails Development Manager with fieldwork and administrative duties in relation to volunteer and outreach initiatives.

Associate's Degree; Bachelor's degree preferred; Area of specialization in environmental science, ecology, landscape architecture, park and recreation management, planning, or related discipline preferred, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent.

Previous trail building experience preferred.

Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership skills required.

Must have a good driving record (less than six (6) active points on driving records at the application stage of the hiring process) and possess a valid Ohio driver's license. CDL preferred.

Related outdoor education/trailbuilding certifications preferred (Leave No Trace Master Educator; Wilderness First Responder, USFS S212 Chainsaw, Completion of Professional Trail Builder Association Workshops or equivalent).

Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and evenings as required.

Ability to walk up to three miles on unimproved surfaces while carrying up to 45 lbs. in pack weight.

Demonstrated ability to use basic had tools, including mattocks, shovels, rakes, saws and picks, and axes. Regular maintenance of these tools as part of a dedicated volunteer cache required.

Demonstrated ability to exhibit teamwork approach that recognizes contribution of all employees.

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.

Demonstrated proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs (Outlook E-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), cloud-based software and smartphone/table apps.

Demonstrated ability to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Demonstrated ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications.
