Job Title: Coordinator of Corporate & Community Engagement

Job Description: The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of youth conservation volunteers, has an exciting opportunity in our Events Department. America’s #1 youth conservation service organization seeks a Coordinator of Corporate & Community Engagement.

This position will work closely with the Director, Corporate & Community Engagement to grow and support SCA national events initiatives in order to extend SCA’s impact, increase revenue, and expand brand awareness. The coordinator will lead project planning, agency relations, alumni networking, and field support for events. The coordinator will also assist with corporate sponsor account management and other relationship-building activity nationwide, including collaborating with regional program staff on events across the country. This position will work collaboratively with the Advancement team and regional program staff to create and execute events and relevant marketing campaigns. The position will require significant travel.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions -
-Lead the planning, outreach, and on-the-ground logistics for assigned corporate or other SCA service events.
-Build, track, and maintain a network of engaged nonprofit and agency partners along with alumni, volunteers, and vendors to reach annual expansion goals and further SCA’s mission and support SCA initiatives in the region.
-Work closely with Corporate Engagement team in designing and expanding donor opportunities to reach annual goals, which may include lead generation, account management and portfolio expansion.
-Work with regional and national partners and other SCA staff to plan appropriate projects and events, conduct pre-event site visits, and compile work plans and tool lists for events.
-Work with vendors and Corporate team to purchase and reserve event materials and/or identify in-kind donation opportunities.
-Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising teams of up to 20 volunteers and/or per diem staff.
-Manage event budgets
-Enforce all SCA safety protocols at events, including maintaining events-specific First Aid Kids and working with SCA Risk Management team to ensure compliance.
-Inventory and manage support materials and supplies, including shipping to other regions as necessary.
-Work across departments and with agency partners; identify space and activities for service events.
-Expand outreach and volunteer recruiting capacity by reaching out to new constituents through phone calls, email, and in-person visits.
-Implement surveys and other tools to evaluate the participant experience at events and identify ways to build and nurture target constituencies.
-Uphold best practices for event management and branding.
-Work with events team and regional staff to compile outcomes and reports.
-Manage social media presence and coordinate live social media outreach and photography at events, including content creation around events.
-Utilize digital and online marketing tools to engage constituents such as iContact, Drupal, Eventbrite, and Salesforce.
-Work collaboratively with national events staff to support and create new and more efficient processes for events.
-Available for frequent evening and weekend work – average of two work weekends per month, varying seasonally.

Supplemental Functions -
-Build relationships with regional partners, in collaboration with program and advancement staff, to promote and execute SCA events.
-Exercise independent judgment and discretion when making decisions and working with partners.
-Perform administrative and field-based functions necessary for the successful implementation of events.
-Represent SCA at local and regional events and at national conferences and trainings as needed.
-Other duties as assigned and needed.

-Assure partner expectations and funding requirements are met.
-Reach quarterly and annual goals and report regularly to internal stakeholders on success of activities and campaigns.
-Facilitate and create safe, meaningful, and high-quality experiences for partners, volunteers, and external audiences.
-Promote and strengthen the SCA brand among national audiences.
-Uphold Risk Management standards and policies.
-Provide excellent customer service, nurture relationships and help assure retention of volunteers and partners.
-Facilitate a teamwork environment by building respectful, productive partnerships within and outside SCA.
-Display a positive and professional image of the department and organization.
-Meet the certification requirements of designated field staff.
-Follow code of conduct and all policies and procedures in the SCA Staff Handbook.
-Understand and model SCA’s Operating Values.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of job-related experience or else 4+ years of job-related experience in volunteer coordination, event management, project management, and/or corporate sponsorship required.
-SCA service experience and/or familiarity with SCA Events strongly preferred.
-Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with unexpected circumstances as they arise.
-Ability to maintain positivity and professionalism in high-stress situations.
-Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
-Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
-Knowledge of and experience with conservation work projects.
-Experience organizing large groups of people and supervising seasonal staff.
-Must have current First Aid and CPR certification.
-Valid Driver’s license and driving record within SCA guidelines.
-Criminal background check that meets SCA standards.
