Job Title: Trail Project Manager

Job Description: The Project Manager is a new position that will support the Foundation’s growing trail projects as well as collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team to implement projects, which work spans the state. This is an amazing opportunity for a strategic, creative and results-oriented professional with exceptional management, program development and implementation skills to join a new and thriving organization.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with Executive Director, the Foundation’s trail committee, key project staff and external stakeholders to develop, lead and implement projects that advance Trail projects through the planning, coalition building, marketing, and construction. 
• Lead in the creation and monitoring of overall project work plan and budget to guide the advancement of the project.
• Lead innovation, best practices and efficiencies in the trail development and building arena. 
• Manage Foundation’s Trail projects from inception to completion in cooperation with Arkansas State Parks personnel, other land managers and construction contractors.
• Collaborate with State Parks personnel to inspire and design projects in accordance with the organization’s long-term strategic plan. 

• Build, nurture and maintain creative and cooperative working relationships with allied land managers, including but not limited to the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
 
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with organizations whose missions interrelate with the Foundation in order to maximize project delivery opportunities and financial support. 

• Assist the Executive Director in seeking new partners for successful collaborations and sustainable efforts to raise awareness, and leverage project potential. 
• Work with stakeholders and trail users when it comes to the planning and vision for trails.
• Understanding of sensitive nature and discretion in project confidential data
• Time required to travel: 40%-60%
• Other projects as assigned.

Additional Information: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.  
• Demonstrated success in organizational planning, budgeting and financial management. 

• Experience supervising contractors and volunteers.
• Proficient in being outdoors for extended period of time
• Proficient in Mountain Biking
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS 
Landscape Architecture or planning experience 
Urban planning experience 
Experience working with a collaborative environment with various stakeholders, necessary.
A strong background in trail development including an understanding of current trail building practices, in particular, sustainable trail design for multiple user types.
Demonstrated management experience.
