Job Title: Open Space and Trails Crew Leader
Job Description: The crew leader position provides leadership and support in the maintenance of all trails and open space work within the City of Steamboat Springs, including 50+ miles of trail and over 2500 acres of open space. Typical work includes maintenance of multiuse singletrack trails, mountain bike specific trails, improved surface trails, and maintenance along the concrete Core Trail through town. The crew leader manages all aspects of projects and oversees a crew of seasonal workers and maintenance workers, working alongside their crew while providing guidance and training. The crew leader will also oversee conservation corps crews, volunteers, and contractors periodically.
Previous leadership experience along with trails and open space maintenance and construction experience is required. In the winter this position will transition to working operations at Howelsen Ski Hill. While previous experience in ski area work is a bonus, it is not a requirement of the job and training will be provided.
Salary and Benefits: This is a full time position for the City of Steamboat Springs. Pay range for the position is: $24.35-$32.89/hr
