Project Title: Pole Mountain Trail Project 2021- Aspen & Haunted Forest Trail Updates
Project Description: This contract is for the construction of two trail reroutes and trail tread enhancements on two natural surface, non-motorized trails on the Pole Mountain Unit of the Medicine Bow National Forest east of Laramie, Wyoming as described below:
1. Aspen Trail - Reroutes: An approximately 700’ segment and 200’ segment.
2. Aspen Trail - Tread enhancements: primarily using sizeable rock and granular fill to construct steps and ramps, along 350 feet of trail; actual tread length affected: 100 feet. (Sizeable = 24-36" in at least one dimension.) Full width tread armor to address frequently wet and muddy tread: 150 feet.
3. Haunted Forest Trail – Tread enhancements: primarily using sizeable rock and granular fill to construct steps and ramps, along 1000 feet of trail; actual tread length affected: 200 feet. Full width tread armor to address frequently wet and muddy tread: 50 feet. Tread remodeling, including adding grade reversals, to add curvature, eliminate braiding and improve drainage: 200 feet.
The Project must be completed according to trail standards as contained within the scope of work. The start date may begin as soon as the contract is complete and in place, which may be as soon as August 1, 2021, to be mutually decided, and work shall be completed by October 31, 2021. Trail lengths are estimates derived from design work completed from survey by Wyoming Pathways.
Contractor will adhere to Sustainable Trail Construction best practices and guidelines accepted in the industry as standards providing the foundation for all design and construction decisions.
