Pedestrian Walking Trail Construction in WA

Project Title: Chambers Creek Canyon Trail Phase 2

Website for RFP/RFQ (if available): http://procurement.opengov.com/portal/piercecountywa/projects/87536

Short Description (25-30 words): This multi-agency project between University Place, Lakewood and Pierce County will fulfill a long-standing community desire to connect the cities of University Place and Lakewood, via a pedestrian walking trail. This trail will be constructed within the Pierce County owned Chambers Creek Canyon, which is located between the two cities.

The project will consist of approximately 2,000 linear feet of boardwalk, (2) timber bridges, (4) timber stairs, and (1) 175 foot suspension bridge.

There are various entry points for access of small construction equipment and construction personnel, but access for the large building components will be limited and assumptions have been made that some equipment will need to be delivered or installed via helicopter or cable-lines. In the trail's final condition, there will be access to the trail at Chambers Creek Road in University Place, Kobayashi Park in University Place, and Zircon Drive SW in Lakewood.
