Job Title: Northeast Ohio Community Program Manager

Job Description: Position Summary

The Student Conservation Association provides an array of community programming across the country. The Northeast Ohio Community Program Manager is responsible for the safe, complete and accurate execution of SCAs various community programs across Northeast Ohio in accordance with the uniform practices and procedures established by the National Community Program Manager and the organization at large. This person helps ensure SCAs Program Coordinators, Community Crew Leaders and members are equipped for the program delivery work scheduled, comply with curriculum/funder mandates, safety controls, logistical service/program delivery needs, and mandatory internal record-keeping and administrative requirements.

SCA is looking for candidates with an understanding of the social and emotional needs of the youth in this program and the local needs of the communities in which they serve. They are responsible for the Ohio AmeriCorps grant development and management, which involves being knowledgeable about AmeriCorps protocols and grant provisions. This position reports to the National Community Program Manager. This position will also be advised by the Director of AmeriCorps for support with the Serve Ohio AmeriCorps grant. This position will be based in Northeast Ohio, but primarily work remotely (either working from home or field based). This is a full-time position offering an annual salary range of $56,000 - $64,000 with a planned start date of late November/early December 2022.

Roles and Responsibilities

External Engagement:
In collaboration with the local Partnership Manager, strengthen network of partners and land managers in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio in order to scale programming and provide future opportunities for SCA and youth involved in programs.
Work with partner organizations in the Cleveland metro region and across Northeast Ohio to develop projects and monitor program outcomes.
Work, in collaboration with SCAs Business Development team and SCAs Alumni Director, to engage the local community and alumni.
Represent SCA with the Serve Ohio AmeriCorps Commission and attend all required AmeriCorps trainings, grantee meetings, and conferences.
Represent SCA at local and regional meetings and events, and at national conferences and trainings as needed.

Recruiting & Onboarding:
Ensure crew leaders receive sufficient orientation.
Ensure crew leaders and members are readily equipped with, or have access to, necessary supplies and other logistical requirements.
Coordinate with SCAs HR and Recruiting departments for the recruitment and enrollment of staff, leaders, and members, including attending recruitment events outside of normal work hours.
Ensure all member onboarding documents are complete and accurate prior to members starting, including member enrollment documents and criminal history check documents.

Program Planning & Delivery:
Create service execution plans that are in line with standardized program models.
Monitor program delivery for successful curriculum, safety outcome, and administrative compliance.
Plan and organize project logistics prior to program, in coordination with host partners.
Manage the programs AmeriCorps planning grant for all reporting, performance measure, and compliance requirements, such as: Assuring members are serving in compliance with AmeriCorps and partner/SCA expectations and ensuring that site and partner sites are meeting AmeriCorps expectations and that the work members will be doing is in line with AmeriCorps protocols and the programs defined performance measures.
Ensure timesheets are completed weekly by all program participants and leaders, program reports/summaries are submitted regularly, receipts are properly submitted, coded and approved, and that all other SCA administrative requirements are met by crew leaders.
Report, track and respond to incidents in accordance with SCA policies and procedures.
Coordinate with SCAs Training Department for member, leader, and staff training.
Manage and support development of program budgets.
Responsible for ongoing field support and rotating emergency responder.
Responsible for modeling, facilitating, and building an inclusive community.


Experience and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in related field preferred or relevant coursework/ work experience related to the specific field preferred.
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as program coordination, leadership in an outdoor setting, experience working with programmatic partners, grant and budget management.
Experience working in conservation and strong technical outdoor skills (experience as a former Corps Crew Leader is a plus).
Strong communication skills when working with various external and internal partners.
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience working with youth and young adults from racially and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certifications or ability to obtain before start date.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google products, Salesforce, Volunteer/Customer Relationship Management Software or willingness to learn new software.


Travel Requirements

Must possess a valid drivers license and have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets SCA standards.
Excellent driving record and ability to drive in a variety of conditions including city driving and/or use of four-wheel drive as well as standard transmission as needed.
The ability to travel for extended periods of time outside and over a variety of terrain
Access to personal vehicle highly preferred (mileage reimbursement available).



Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may manage other employees and is responsible for the performance management and adequate hiring of those employees.
