Job Title: Trail Crew Member
Job Description: The Wilderness Trail Crew Member will work in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area and surrounding wildlands on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest. The Trail Crew Member will work under the direction of the wilderness Trail Crew Leader and will primarily perform annual and deferred maintenance on Wilderness trails while completing Wilderness Stewardship Performance Monitoring (WSP) as directed. The crew will report directly to the SBFC Program Director and work closely with the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest wilderness managers. SBFC operates on the Forest Service bi-monthly work schedule.
The crew generally works for 9 days at a time (with those days usually in the backcountry) then has 5 days off. Work is required on many weekends and holidays.
