Job Description: Maine Trail Crew – Member
Maine Trail Crew Members will be an integral part of a small team camping on the Appalachian Trail and reconstructing targeted trail sections. Work will involve building stone steps, waterbars, retaining walls and other erosion control structures. Advanced training with stone cutting, stone work, rigging systems and other trail work will be taught as well as training in CPR/ First-aid. Sorry, no pets allowed.
Qualifications:
• At least one season of outdoor trail work
• Backcountry backpacking, camping and cooking experience
• Good health and physical fitness and ability to hike long distances in mountain terrain
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to live and work with others
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment under challenging conditions

All of Maine Appalachian Trail Club’s Trail Crew positions require compliance with a COVID-19 safety plan. Sorry, no pets allowed. All positions will camp at backcountry sites during work days and some gear will be provided. Food will be on your own. Trail Crew employees will enjoy day-off housing at our base camp, in Dover-Foxcroft, ME.
