Project Title: Trowbridge Forest Trail Construction Project: Bike Skills Park Phase

Project Description: The Trowbridge Forest Recreational Masterplan will expand the existing trail system in Thunder Bay by 15km by adding a variety of trails and a bike skills park. Construction will start this summer with 3 RFP's being issued.
The Bike Skills Park shall provide opportunities for users of all skill levels to progress. Objectives for Design Services and Construction of the project are as follows:
Bike Skills Park Features
1. Jump lines area
2. Pump track area
3. Skill development area
Design Considerations
1. Bike skills park shall be located within the fielded area of Kinsmen Park
2. Design and construction following International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Canada Standards and Whistler Trail Standards
3. Harmony with other park areas including restrooms, shade structure, playground, hiking trail access, and river access
4. Construction disturbances shall be limited to the site
5. Drainage and water management must be managed on the site
6. Acceptable construction materials include earth, wood, rock, steel, plastic composites and construction aggregate
7. Sourcing of imported clean fill suitable for construction of earthen structures
Use and Maintenance
1. Risk mitigation and user safety
2. Training of staff & volunteers on maintenance and repair
