Project Title: Hanson Nature Preserve Visitor Enhancements
Project Description: The proposed Project includes public access improvements to facilitate outdoor appreciation, recreation, and educational opportunities on the Project site. Project specifications are in the attached Landscape Architectural Drawings Package and include: security fencing; a corten steel gate with electronic exit device; an entrance road and a permeable parking lot with bus access made from an aggregate binder, consistent with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements; a portable restroom with ADA access; interpretive signage and informational signage (ADA parking and restroom signage); a trailhead kiosk; a lunch area with gabion basket seating, shade sails, and a mobile learning kiosk with day use storage; a walking trail with ADA access; interpretive areas with bench seating; mounded berms using on-site materials; and native vegetative plantings with low-flow irrigation. The total footprint of the Project is roughly 3 acres, and the total length of natural surface trails will be approximately 1.24 miles with 0.16 miles of ADA trail. Site improvements using heavy equipment such as the site prep and grading can only be conducted outside bird breeding season which runs from mid-March to mid-September. Anticipated Project schedule is August 2021 – October 2023. TNC hereby invites contractors to submit technical and price proposals for implementing the Project as described in the attached Landscape Architectural Drawings package. Proposals should include the task breakdown and qualifications described in the Proposal Requirements below and should be limited to no more than 15 pages (exclusive of resumes of key personnel).
