Trails/Sawyer Program Coordinator

Job Description WRV is looking for talented outdoor/community loving folks to join our team. The Sawyer or Trails Coordinator positions are full-time seasonal with the opportunity to manage volunteer restoration projects, lead teams of skilled volunteers to plan projects, volunteer recruitment, and coordinate the expectations of land management agencies while achieving other project goals. Location: Boulder, Colorado QUALIFICATIONS We will consider candidates with qualifications that closely match the following. Strong candidates who lack a specific qualification will also be considered. • Natural Resource Background (Botany, Ecology, Forestry, NR Management, or related field) • Experience with restoration or similar ecological restoration projects • Experience planning and leading large events • Experience teaching and mentoring new leaders • A proven track record of leading a team to complete projects • Experience working with land management agencies • Experience with volunteer recruitment and outreach • Excellent leadership and motivational skills; excellent public speaking and writing skills • Project management skills and ability to effectively multitask • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with preference for the natural resource field • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), databases, and comfortable with technology • Experience camping, especially coordinating group camping • Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed SPECIAL SKILLS Candidates with a high level of experience in one or more of the following will have preference. • Qualified and experienced in use of chainsaw. Strongly prefer Faller-B or equivalent qualification. • Experience in designing, planning and constructing trails • Planning and running leadership trainings PERSONAL QUALITIES DESIRED Self-directed, highly motivated, reliable, energetic, enthusiastic, great interpersonal skills, professional, results and solution oriented, able to meet deadlines, committed to public land stewardship, interest in volunteerism and service, and a good sense of humor. COMPENSATION: $13.00 to $16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
