Job Title: field recreation specialist
Job Description: The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation is recruiting for a Field Recreation Specialist position that will be located in the Barre district office. The successful candidate will work closely with volunteers, contractors and other staff to complete high priority recreation projects including sustainable trail development and maintenance, assessment and monitoring of recreation sites and promoting sustainable outdoor recreation activities. Will serve on a multidisciplinary team of natural resource managers responsible for the stewardship of public lands. The Specialist will work closely with partner organizations and agencies to develop and review proposals for new recreation opportunities and the management of existing recreational infrastructure. Will participate on a statewide team of natural resource and recreation managers to identify needs, priorities and help plan projects across the state. This position will have direct input into the future of recreational opportunities on public land and on public/private recreation opportunities in Vermont.
