Job Title: Resource Specialist or Senior Resource Specialist
Job Description: Responsible for open space management, recreation planning, and public outreach. Monitors and inventories trails, recreational facilities, and public uses; and collaborates with agency and non-profit partners to preserve and enhance County Open Space and Trails assets. Identifies and implements activities associated with the natural resource protection and outdoor recreation management of Summit County properties and trails. Assists with grant writing and administration to fund open space projects, review of land use and trail proposals, GIS mapping, procuring and managing independent contractor agreements, and working to advance County Open Space’s conservation and recreational goals. Completes other land management, natural resource, and recreation planning projects, and addresses complex project management issues as assigned and depending on the candidate’s skills. This position entails approximately 85% office and 15% field work.
