Job Title: Trail Crew Project Leader
Job Description: The Sawtooth Society's Project Leaders manage and supervise volunteer conservation
crews comprised of both youth and adult groups over the course of a four-month field
season (June through September). Project Leaders will generally work following a spike
schedule of five-day hitches (Wednesday-Sunday, 8 to 9 hours per day), followed by two
days off (Monday-Tuesday) before the next hitch. During the program, Project Leaders will
be responsible for leading their crew of volunteers in carrying out a variety of hands-on,
conservation-oriented projects on public lands, such as trail maintenance or construction,
recreational facility maintenance, forestry management, among others.
