Job Title: Trail Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description: TRAIL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
LTE, June – August 2022
Salary based on experience | Up to 40 hours per week
ORA Trails is accepting applications for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position for the Summer of 2022, June – August. The Trail Maintenance Supervisor position will earn an hourly wage based on experience and will likely work 30-40 hours weekly. This position will be 90% field work and 10% administrative work.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has extensive knowledge on current shared use trail building and maintenance trends
- Has extensive knowledge on bike optimized trail features, Pump tracks and trail shaping standards.
- Has knowledge on erosion tendencies and best practices to alleviate and prevent future damage
- Is able to work with handheld tools and power tools
- Is comfortable working outdoors every day on varying terrain, and carry up to 50 lbs. without accommodation
- Is comfortable and experienced leading a team of 2-3 staff
- Is comfortable and experience with scheduling and organization management
- Is 18 years or older and has reliable transportation to work
Job Responsibilities:
- Assessing and leading the repair of trail damage on shared use trails and provide support with new trail construction
- Understanding of La Crosse’s trail systems and trail layout
- Ability to travel to varying job sites within our trail systems on a daily basis
- Manage and lead a team of 2-3 other staff, daily
- Educate team of 2-3 staff and share knowledge of trail maintenance and best practices
- Maintenance and inventory of tools and equipment, daily
- Create a staff and maintenance schedule, weekly
- Agree to become first-aid/CPR certified upon hire
- Communicate with ORA staff person on updates and plans, daily or weekly
- Optional to become chainsaw certified
- Various maintenance tasks as needed
