Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew

Job Description

The Trail Care Crew (TCC) is a full-time, two-year salaried exempt two-person position (usually spouses or long-term significant others) responsible for implementing the Trail Care Crew program across the country. Work includes leading trailbuilding workshops, giving educational presentations, assisting advocacy groups and land managers, and performing various administrative tasks. The TCC works with the VP of Finance, Administration and Programs; the Field Programs Specialist; Regional Directors; other IMBA staff and the general public to help further IMBA’s overall mission. Their day-to-day work is organized by the Field Programs Specialist, while the Director of Field Programs is their supervisor, handling their performance review, any necessary disciplinary action and final program-level decisions.

The TCC should have a high level of adaptability and confidence, since they will acquire a unique skillset of technical and specialized information. They will have a depth of knowledge of trail construction, which includes an understanding of soils, water behavior, sustainable building technique, trail planning skills, etc. In addition they will gain a breadth of knowledge relating to nonprofit organization operations, volunteer management, land management agency interaction, fundraising techniques and outdoor industry economics. They should possess a desire to always represent IMBA in a positive manner. The position assumes a weekend-based schedule and continuous travel.

Location: Headquartered in Boulder, CO. Work takes place all over the U.S.

Full Time: Salaried exempt, temporary position.
