Job Title: Trails Worker Lead

Job Description: Job Summary: 
Leads Trails Workers in the inspection, operation and maintenance of the Giants Ridge Bike Park, freestyle terrain features and other recreational trail systems. Supervises other trail workers, provides input to management regarding design, layout, construction and maintenance of freestyle features, bike park and trails.

Essential Functions 
Assists Mountain Manager in hiring, scheduling, training, and reviewing trails staff.
Directly supervises trail maintenance staff to assure appropriate maintenance of terrain features, bike park and trail systems. 
Utilizes 1Risk software to manage operations, inspection and maintenance documentation.
Ensures that the bike park, it’s features and other trail systems are prepared for public use before the scheduled opening time each day. 
Communicates as necessary to ensure management and guests are adequately informed of changing conditions and closures. 
Works collaboratively with other crew members to ensure that all features are properly built, maintained and documented according to industry best practices and company policies. 
Evaluate and make required adjustments to attain desired final appearance of trail projects.
Perform re-vegetation work; spread mulch, seed, fertilizer, rake, build water-bars, etc.
Fills out incident reports and conducts investigations of any bike park or trail related incidents.  
Assists in developing new events, as well as in the production of existing special events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and create positive exposure consistent with management objectives. 
Performs all duties of Trail Maintenance Staff and provides support for bike park operations as needed. 
Performs other duties as assigned by Mountain Manager and/or Directors. 

Skills and Knowledge Requirements: 
High School diploma required.
At least one year of direct or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess valid Class D driver’s license.
Has demonstrated 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience.
Ability to communicate verbal and written instructions effectively.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to ride a mountain bike at an intermediate to advanced level. 
Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
Must be able to walk and hike on uneven surfaces while carrying tools and equipment.
Ability to safely operate snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles on difficult uneven terrain. 
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100lbs or more occasionally, with assistance.
Ability to shovel, rake and engage in repetitive pushing and pulling motions.
