Job Title: Junior Ranger Team Leader
Job Description: The City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Junior Ranger Program seeks 8 dedicated outdoor educators to lead teams of youth ages 14-17 on OSMP lands this summer. Junior Ranger Program Youth Team Leaders build functional teams, complete trail maintenance and land restoration projects, and support youth stewardship and job skill development. Position is full-time seasonal.

Additional Information: Duties & Responsibilities
Leads a 10-member Junior Ranger youth team, performing trail maintenance and construction, land reclamation, parks clean-up, integrated pest management projects and more.
Responsible for the transportation and general management of the team including safety, supervision, project management, discipline and evaluation.
Coordinates team tasks and daily operations with co-leader.
Supervises youth and develops team environment.
Works cooperatively with OSMP staff project sponsors to carry out site-specific work plans.
Organizes work within the work group to maximize safety, project completion, team development, and individual contribution.
Integrates learning opportunities into project timeline to help youth members develop stewardship awareness.
Works as part of a team, attending training, orientation and/or staff meetings as needed.
Provides task instruction as needed.
Plans environmental education and team building activities.
Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, acts accordingly to prevent accidents and injuries. Uses all proper safety equipment. Reports all accidents and damage to city property.
Keeps accurate records on each Junior Ranger team member, which includes documentation of hours worked, incident reports, progress reports and evaluations.
Responsible for knowing and complying with all city and department policies; participating in professional trainings and development; and adhering to attendance and workplace attire policies.
