Job Title: Southern New England Trail Projects Coordinator

Job Description: This independent position is 40 hours per week, supported by the Southern New England Trails Volunteer Programs Supervisor. The Projects Coordinator supports all aspects of creating a successful season for our trail crews that are based out of the Southern New England Trails office at Noble View Outdoor Center. The position requires group management, trail work, and organizational skills. This position is to divide their time between supporting an AmeriCorps trail crew, a New England Trail Youth Crew, logistics at the Noble View Outdoor Center residential facility, and volunteer groups.


• Assist with formal and informal training to an AmeriCorps trail crew and New England Trails Crew Leaders in collaboration with other AMC Staff on topics such as trail work, tool use, safety practices, and group leadership. 
• Provide logistic and field support to AmeriCorps members on trail stewardship projects 
• Work alongside New England Trail Youth Crew to provide technical and morale support
• Occasionally train and lead groups of volunteers on trail work project days
• Food and supply shop for crews based at Noble View Outdoor Center
• Oversee and organize the pantry area at Noble View and maintain inventory of food
• Delegate Noble View cleaning & upkeep responsibilities to others as needed
• Work with Program Supervisor to coordinate trail projects, logistics, and supply needs
• Foster a spirit of cooperation, safety, teamwork, stewardship, and fun while with crews
• As needed, work with project partners in a professional and timely manner, communicating by email and in person to confirm projects and dates, coordinate scouting and field visits, as well as provide updates on project progress, including descriptions, project report forms, and photos.
• Collect and compile accurate and thorough project reports and safety forms from crews
• Serve as a responder in the event of an emergency in the field or at Noble View
• Conduct informal check-ins with crew members, as well as group debriefs as needed. Report any relevant notes, questions, or requests to the Program Supervisor promptly. 
• Assist with maintenance of tools, equipment, and facility
• Drive 12-passenger vans as needed
• Act as a leader and role model at the Noble View facility and enforce all community guidelines to protect and respect others who share the space
• Understand and enforce all local, state, federal and AMC COVID-19 guidelines
