Job Title: Catskill Trails Coordinator
Job Description: The Catskill Coordinator oversees day to day operations and is responsible for all aspects of the Professional and Volunteer Trail Crews working in the Catskill Forest Preserve in New York State. You will be the direct line supervisor for a 12 member trail crew during a 10 week summer season.
Qualifications & Responsibilities: The Catskill Coordinator candidate must be a highly motivated, organized individual who has a strong knowledge of trail maintenance and construction techniques. Must have at least four years of trail work experience and at least two years’ experience leading crew (s). Past work with volunteers a plus. Ability to communicate effectively in meetings or to large groups a must. Applicants should be competent with Microsoft programs and utilizing a G.P.S. unit. He/She should have experience and feel comfortable working in an outdoor environment. Must be physically and mentally capable for intensive manual labor and hiking. Responsibilities include, coordinating and planning trail work projects and schedules. Will oversee and direct training. Supervise the Catskill trail crews throughout the work week to ensure safety and work standards are being met. Applicant will act as liaison with supervisors in Lake Placid, and keep them abreast of all developments pertaining to your employees. Assist in maintenance and ordering of equipment, keeping all purchases within budgetary guidelines. Ensures employees safety and personnel protocols are being adhered to at all times.

Position Dates: April 1 - August 18, extended season available
Work Schedule: 3-4 days in the backcountry, 1-2 days administrative work. 1 & 1/2 days off (including weekends and holidays).
Compensation: Salary dependent on experience. Room and Board provided
