Project Title: Turnagain Pass Trail Design and Construction

Project Description: The Turnagain Pass Trail Design/Build Project is for the design and construction of an unbuilt approximately 5-mile segment of the Iditarod National Historic Trail (INHT) on the Chugach National Forest in Alaska. Approximately 11.5 miles of the Turnagain Pass Trail were constructed around 2011, leading from the Johnson Pass Trailhead in the south to the Upper Ingram Trailhead to the North. This project will continue construction from the current northern terminus on the lower reaches of Turnagain Pass to a connection point on the Seward Highway at sea level. Design and construction should be complete by December 1, 2025 or 2026.
