To Whom would you like your solicitation available: Open to the Public

Project Title: Spring Hollow Trail Construction Phase II

Project Solicitation Number (if any):

Project Description: Seeking specialty trail construction services to construct 14+ miles of natural surface single track in the Spring Hollow Trail system on the Pine Valley Ranger District of the Dixie National Forest.

The project is located in arid high desert landscape dominated by sage brush, pinyon pine, and Utah juniper vegetation. The area has excessively drained shallow loam soils containing colluvium derived from eroded sandstone/shale with basalt bedrock outcrops at steeper grade breaks and along cliff edges.

The project area is located approximately 12 miles north of St. George UT. The Dixie National Forest conducted an Environmental Assessment (“EA”) titled the “Spring Hollow and Grass Valley Mountain Biking Project”. This includes 43 miles of new natural surface singletrack trails to be developed for mountain biking, adaptive cycling, hiking, and trail running in the Spring Hollow Trail Project.

Phase I included approximately 6 miles of trail completed in 2022. Washington County, in agreement with the Forest, has obtained grant funding as well as committed County funds to this project. Recreation opportunities contribute to the high quality of life in the County by providing healthy activities as well
as economic returns from tourism and related industries. This project is a high priority for Washington County and a District Priority for the Pine Valley Ranger District.
