Project Title: Trail Assessment for Adaptive Mountain Bike Accessibility
Project Description: Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA), in collaboration with the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) and Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS), is seeking bid proposals from qualified contractors to provide professional services to conduct a trail assessment around Bend, Oregon. The purpose of the trail assessment is to improve accessibility and information resources for riders of adaptive mountain bikes (aMTBs).
The trail assessment contractor (Contractor) will visit trailheads and ride trails on aMTBs and document (1) areas that are difficult or impossible for aMTBs to ride independently, with suggestions for ride-arounds or trail modifications and (2) trail data aMTB riders can use to plan their trail experience (e.g., trailhead accessibility; trail rating system; trail specifications such as camber, turn radius, etc.).
Contractor teams must include riders who use aMTBs as their primary means of accessing trails and must demonstrate experience completing similar projects. Preference may be given to Contractor teams that can visit trailheads and ride trails using multiple types of aMTBs and/or involve riders with different injury and rider skill levels.
The work will be awarded based on best value.
