The Climbing Association of Southern Arizona (CASA) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit
organization that advocates for local climbers through stewardship, education and partnership
with land managers.

Operating out of Tucson, CASA was founded in January 2015 as a home for climbers. Through
participation in programs and events, climbers can learn new skills, connect with others, and
engage in projects that benefit their local climbing community and that give back to the Southern
Arizona community at large.

Since 2015, CASA has been on the forefront of a new national precedent for user groups by
adopting Windy Point on Mt. Lemmon as a focus of stewardship efforts. This project is part of a
larger stewardship program that, through Adopt a Crags and Youth Stewardship Days, offers
volunteers opportunities to care for public lands. Since its inception, CASA has initiated a
groundbreaking anchor replacement program, innovated anchor replacement tools that are
recognized and distributed nationally, and supported the protection of climbing resources.
