Walter “Carl” May, 74, of Sagle, ID, died, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 2:50AM, after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born June 9, 1938 in Ada, OK, on an 80 acre small farm in a log cabin. Carl’s parents were Walter I May and Mary Ellen Hall. Carl’s parents moved to California in the early 1940’s to work in the fruit harvest and later in Hydraulic tunnel construction.
In 1964 Carl moved his family to Sandpoint (Sagle) Idaho and worked in the woods, logging for 10 years. Then for 25 years built hiking trails under contract for the USFS and BLM until he injured his knee and had to retire from that work.
In 1992 he purchased an established Honda dealership and built it to a viable and successful business, May’s Honda, which runs like a well oiled machine by his well chosen employees. May’s Honda is a well respected distributor of trail building equipment, as well as various Honda machines.
